Filippo Mambretti was born in Como, Italy. He grew up in close contact with his grandparents, furniture and statue artisans who instilled in him a love for the culture and history of design. While studying art in secondary school, he met Bruno Munari, and the experience led him to enrol at the Milan Polytechnic, where he earned degrees in interior design and furniture design. A teacher, designer, and winner of numerous awards, he collaborates with various design schools, such as SSS_AA, Csia, IED, and Politecnico di Milano. He also runs his own design studio, which is based in Switzerland and has activities throughout Europe thanks to lively collaboration with several product and architectural design companies.
